The Power of Forgiveness

The other day, I was talking with a girlfriend who is in a
process of getting divorced from her husband after 30 years
of marriage. After listening to her complaints for 30 minutes,
she declared, “I will never forgive him” for this, “I will
never forgive him” for that. Now, I can totally understand her frustration.

However, what I do not understand is: What is she trying to
accomplish, by declaring, “I will never forgive him. Is she
trying to punish him by holding grudges forever? If she wants
to hold grudges and not forgive him, whom is she hurting? She
is definitely not hurting him because he does not know
anything about it.

So, who is really getting hurt if she does not forgive him?
Yes, you are right. She is hurting herself and only herself.

Many people think that to forgive someone is to say, “What
you did to me is OK. When we choose to forgive, we are simply
letting go of our end of the chain that keeps us enslaved to
the past and bound to that person and whatever happened. By
forgiving, we are taking our focus off a crippling vision of
what we do not want more of and replacing it with what we
desire to create.

By choosing to forgive and respond with love rather than
fear–we free ourselves. We sweep away the years of built-up
sludge that jam up the channels through which abundance of
every kind flows, and we move more firmly into our power to
manifest that peaceful, prosperous world we want to live in.

Forgiving is something that a person does for himself and
not for somebody else.

Some years ago, I had a serious upset with one of my family
members. The disagreement was so painful that my mind and
body went into a state of shock. I just could not get over
it.

A couple of weeks later, I noticed that I was losing my hair.
I would find hair just about everywhere: in the shower, in
my bed, on the kitchen floor. Slowly, slowly I noticed that
my hair started thinning at the front of my scalp.

I knew that the reason I was losing my hair was the upset I
experienced with my family member. However, I did not know
what to do about it and was not ready to go bald, at least
not yet!
I started panicking. I went to see a dermatologist who
prescribed Rogaine. Rogaine is some kind of liquid that you
put on the affected area and hope it will stop the thinning
of the hair.

I used it couple of times, but I did not like the side effects.
My hair became coarse and turned to a grayish color. The last
time I used it, I got dizzy and almost passed out. That was the
end of Rogaine for me.

I went to see another doctor who told me she did not have any
solution for my problem and advised me to “just get used to it
and accept it. She meant that I should accept the fact that I
was getting bald.

Now, you know how important hair is for women. I was not ready
to live with a “bad hair day” “every day” for the remainder of
my life.

At this point, I knew the problem was an emotional one that
manifested in the physical form. I had a moment of total
clarity and realized that I was concentrating on the fruits,
which are the results, instead of focusing on the roots that
created the results. I realized that I had to handle the
situation on an emotional level instead of on a physical level.

My spiritual adviser lived in Santa Barbara, so I drove up one
day and discussed my situation with her. She suggested doing
this simple exercise–one of forgiving.

It is called the “Compassion Exercise. Let me explain how it
is done.

I closed my eyes, put my attention on the person I needed to
forgive, and repeated to myself:

Just like me, this person is seeking happiness in their life.

Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness, and
despair.

Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in
their life.

Just like me, this person is learning about life.

While doing the exercise, I put myself in their shoes and felt
how they felt. Slowly I released the negative energy that was
affecting my mind and my body, and let it drain out of me to
the universe.

By doing this exercise, I forgave the person and as a result,
my hair loss stopped.

What do you think happened here? It had to do with forgiveness.
It had to do with giving up the negative energy.

If I kept holding grudges and had not forgiven this person,
I would be very bald by now.

I would like to leave you with a question to contemplate:

If I insisted on saying, “I will never forgive this person,
who do you think would still be suffering–the other person
or me?
Here is a short exercise to do. Ask yourself the following
questions:

1. Against whom am I holding a grudge right now, today, this
moment? List as many as necessary!

2. In what way does holding these grudges enhance my life and
bring me peace?

3. In what way may holding these grudges be restricting me?
(Joy and happiness, relationships, career, finances,
self-esteem, stress, etc.)

4. Am I going to continue paying these prices and placing my
attention on what I do NOT want more of in my life?
Alternatively, do I choose to MAKE PEACE?

While you are asking yourself these questions, feel free to
use the tools from the above “Compassion Exercise”. Learn to
forgive yourself and other people who were involved in your
situation.

Make a note to yourself. How did you feel after you released
the negative energy and forgave yourself and others?

The Benefits of Forgiveness

“Forgive yourself for your faults and your mistakes and move on.
–Les Brown-

Generally speaking, it is easier to forgive others than
forgiving ourselves for our own mistakes. The best way to
learn how to forgive yourself is to make a list of everything
that you think you did from minor mistakes to bigger mistakes.
Then use the above exercise of forgiving yourself.

You will be surprised how lighter you will feel afterwards.

The benefits of forgiveness are too numerous to mention.
However, here are some fundamental benefits:

• Accelerated healing, both emotionally and physically
• Relief from stiffness and chronic pains
• Relief from depression and resentment
• Increase in physical strength
• Stress reduction
• Immune system booster
• Better digestion
• More positive outlook
• Increase awareness and intelligence
• More energy, more control (physically and mentally)
• Relief from self-sabotaging
• More restful sleep
• Longer life
• Increased happiness
• Faster reaction time
• Friendlier, more tolerant
• More successful
• Ability to establish new relationships
• Peace of mind
• A NEW LIFE

Could you benefit from any of these? Of course, you could!
In addition, the pathway to getting these benefits is
through forgiveness.

Tofu, Soy Diet Linked to Lower Death in Breast Cancer

Tofu, Soy Diet Linked to Lower Death in Breast Cancer
Survivors

By Nicole Ostrow

Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) — Breast cancer survivors in China who
ate tofu, soy milk and fresh beans as part of a diet rich
in soy protein had a lower risk of dying and less chance
their cancer would return, a study found.

Those who ate the most soy protein had a 29 percent lower
risk of dying and a 32 percent lower rate of their breast
cancer returning than those who had the lowest intake of
soy, research showed today in the Journal of the American
Medical Association. The foods included in the study were
tofu, soy milk and fresh soy beans, all common choices in
Asian meals.

The study, which followed women for an average of about
four years, is the largest to examine the influence of soy
intake on breast cancer survival and recurrence, the authors
said. More than 192,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed
with breast cancer this year, according to the National
Cancer Institute.

“Women with breast cancer can be assured that consumption of
moderate amounts of soy food is safe and may be associated
with better outcomes,” said the study’s lead author Xiao-Ou
Shu, a professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University in
Nashville, Tennessee, in a Dec. 4 e-mail. The researchers
will follow the women to watch “the long-term effects of soy
food intake on health among breast cancer survivors,
including bone density, fracture and coronary heart disease,”
she said.

Rich in Isoflavones

Soy foods are rich in isoflavones, which are estrogen-like
compounds that occur naturally in plant foods. Soy isoflavones
may compete with the body’s estrogen in binding to cell
receptors, reducing the amount of estrogen in the body and
hindering the ability of cancers to grow. The most common
types of breast cancer depend on estrogen to grow, Shu said.

The researchers said the results eased previous concern that
isoflavones might interfere with tamoxifen, a cancer drug
designed to block estrogen. The study found higher soy food
consumption was beneficial regardless of whether a patient
was taking tamoxifen, she said.

The researchers analyzed data from women in the Shanghai
Breast Cancer Survival Study in China. The women had been
diagnosed with breast cancer from March 2002 to April 2006.
They were followed for an average of four years through June
2009.

At that time, there were 444 total deaths and 534 breast
cancer recurrences or breast cancer-related deaths among
5,033 women in the study.

Death Rate Lower

The four-year mortality rate was 7.4 percent for women with
the highest consumption of soy protein compared with 10.3
percent for those with the lowest intake. The four-year
breast cancer recurrence rates were 8 percent for those in
the highest soy group and 11.2 percent for those in the
lowest group, the researchers found.

Eating soy food that is the equivalent to 11 grams
(0.39 ounces) of soy protein or 40 milligrams of soy
isoflavone a day was enough to see a benefit, Shu said.
In the study, the women consumed an average of 47
milligrams a day of isoflavone compared with the average
U.S. intake of 1 milligram to 6 milligrams a day, the
researchers said.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends people
consume 25 grams of soy protein a day, which contains
about 50 milligrams of isoflavone, as part of a diet low
in saturated fat and cholesterol that may help reduce the
risk of heart disease. One cup of fortified soy milk
contains 10 grams of soy protein, or 43 milligrams of
isoflavone, while a half cup of a firm soybean patty
called tempeh contains 16 grams, or 53 milligrams of
isoflavone. A half-cup of tofu or about 1.5 cups of edamame,
a green vegetable, also each contain 10 grams of soy protein.

Survival Benefits

Other ingredients in soy foods including folate, protein,
calcium or fiber may also be responsible for the survival
benefits, Shu said.

More soy foods are consumed in China than in the U.S.,
according to an editorial written in the same journal by
Rachel Ballard-Barbash at the National Cancer Institute
in Bethesda, Maryland, and Marian Neuhouser at the Fred
Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.

Ballard-Barbash and Neuhouser said most soy in the U.S.
is consumed through supplements and processed foods,
including meat substitutes made with soy, that may contain
lower amounts of isoflavones. Future studies should look at
whether isoflavone supplements have similar results as those
seen with soy food, Shu said.

More studies are needed in larger numbers of people among
more diverse populations to fully understand the effects of
soy on breast cancer survivors, Ballard-Barbash and Neuhouser
wrote.

“In the meantime, clinicians can advise their patients with
breast cancer that soy foods are safe to eat and that these
foods may offer some protective benefit for long-term health,”
they wrote. “Patients with breast cancer can be assured that
enjoying a soy latte or indulging in a pad thai with tofu
causes no harm and, when consumed in plentiful amounts, may
reduce risk of disease recurrence.”

Choose Love

Choose Love

What We Are Made of

Love is often presented as the opposite of fear, but true
love is not opposite anything. True love is far more
powerful than any negative emotions, as it is the
environment in which all things arise. Negative emotions
are like sharks swimming in the ocean of love. All things
beautiful and fearful, ugly and kind, powerful and small,
come into existence, do their thing, and disappear within
the context of this great ocean. At the same time, they are
made of the very love in which they swim and can never be
separated. We are made of this love and live our whole lives
at one with it, whether we know it or not.

It is only the illusion that we are separate from this great
love that causes us to believe that choosing anything other
than love makes sense or is even possible. In the relative,
dualistic world of positive and negative, darkness and light,
male and female, we make choices and we learn from them. This
is exactly what we are meant to be doing here on earth.
Underlying these relative choices, though, is the choice to
be conscious of what we are, which is love, or to be
unconscious of it. When we choose to be conscious of it, we
choose love. We will still exist in the relative world of
opposites and choices and cause and effect, and we will need
to make our way here, but doing so with an awareness that we
are all made of this love will enable us to be more playful,
more joyful, more loving and wise, as we make our way.
Ultimately, the choices we make will shed light on the love
that makes us all one, enabling those who have forgotten to
return to the source.

This world makes it easy to forget this great love, which is
part of why we are here. We are here to remember and, when we
forget to remember again, to choose love.

CT scan Radiation Linked to Cancers, Deaths

January by leayek

Greetings,

CT scan radiation linked to cancers, deaths

USA TODAY 12-15-09

CT scans deliver far more radiation than has been believed and may contribute to 29,000 new cancers each year, along with 14,500 deaths, suggest two studies in today’s Archives of Internal Medicine. One study, led by the National Cancer Institute’s Amy Berrington de Gonzalez, used existing exposure data to estimate how many cancers might be caused by CT scans. Another study in the journal suggests the problem may even be worse.

In that study, researchers found that people may be exposed to up to four times as much radiation as estimated by earlier studies. While previous studies relied on dummies equipped with sensors, authors of the new paper studied 1,119 patients at four San Francisco-area hospitals, says author Rebecca-Smith Bindman of the University of California-San Francisco. Based on those higher measurements, a patient could get as much radiation from one CT scan as 74 mammograms or 442 chest X-rays, she says. Young people are at highest risk from excess radiation, partly because they have many years ahead of them in which cancers could develop, Smith-Bindman says. Among 20-year-old women who get one coronary angiogram, a CT scan of the heart, one in 150 will develop cancer related to the procedure. Not all doctors agree about those risks. Scientists have not yet determined whether low doses of radiation actually increase cancer risk or whether the risk rises only after exposure levels reach a certain threshhold, says James Thrall, chairman of the American College of Radiology. He says it’s also tricky to compare cancer rates between people who have had CT scans with those who haven’t.

People undergoing scans may have underlying health problems that predispose them to cancer, he says. In many cases, CT scans can be lifesaving. In other cases, there’s no evidence a CT scan is really better than other approaches, Smith-Bindman says. Up to one-third of all CT scans are unnecessary, according to an accompanying editorial by Rita Redberg, also of UCSF.

Doctors sometimes order CT scans for convenience because they don’t have access to results at another facility, says Rosaleen Parsons, chair of diagnostic imaging at Philadelphia’s Fox-Chase Cancer Center, who wasn’t involved in the new studies. She suggests that patients keep their medical records and ask doctors about alternatives that don’t involve radiation exposure. Patients also should ask if a facility has been accredited by the American College of Radiology, she says.

I hope the above information has been helpful for you.

Pomegranate Inhibits Hormone-dependent Breast Cancer Cell Growth

January by leayek

Greetings everyone,

On my next radio talk show “Waves of Healing” on 1/12/10 at 3pm PST, I will be interviewing Dr. Daniel J. Benor, MD – author of Seven Minutes to Natural Pain Release. You can listen to show live on 1/12/10 at 3pm PST by login to www.blogtalkradio.com/Lea-Yekutiel. Pomegranate inhibits hormone-dependent breast cancer cell growth

A report published in the January, 2010 issue of the American Association for Cancer Research journal Cancer Prevention Research reveals the discovery by researchers at City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, California of a suppressive effect for compounds found in pomegranate on the proliferation of breast cancer cells.

Prior research has demonstrated that ellagic acid in pomegranates inhibits the enzyme known as aromatase that converts androgen to estrogen hormones which fuel a common type of breast cancer.

City of Hope Division of Tumor Cell Biology director and Breast Cancer Research Program co-leader Shiuan Chen, PhD, along with Beckman Research Institute fellow Lynn Adams and their associates found that ten ellagitannins occurring in pomegranates had the potential to prevent estrogen-responsive breast cancer, with a metabolite of ellagic acid called urolithin B significantly inhibiting the growth of cultured breast cancer cells.

“Phytochemicals suppress estrogen production that prevents the proliferation of breast cancer cells and the growth of estrogen-responsive tumors,” Dr Chen explained. “We were surprised by our findings,” he remarked. “We previously found other fruits, such as grapes, to be capable of the inhibition of aromatase. But, phytochemicals in pomegranates and in grapes are different.” University of Texas M.D. Anderson Center Clinical Cancer Prevention Department Chairman Powel Brown, MD, PhD is intrigued by the study’s results.

“More research on the individual components and the combination of chemicals is needed to understand the potential risks and benefits of using pomegranate juice or isolated compounds for a health benefit or for cancer prevention,” he stated. “This study does suggest that studies of the ellagitannins from pomegranates should be continued.” He suggested that people “might consider consuming more pomegranates to protect against cancer development in the breast and perhaps in other tissues and organs.”

I hope this article was helpful to keep you healthier.

Breast Cancer Researchers Focus on Stem Cells

January by leayek

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Breast Cancer Researchers Focus on Stem Cells

New York Times Syndicate 12-14-09  SAN ANTONIO

Cancer drugs and radiation target and kill fast-growing cancer cells. But a small number of noncancer cells in the tumor often survive. These, researchers believe, are “mother” cells — stem cells that shrug off treatment and survive to manufacture more cancer cells. Researchers in Houston are studying the vulnerability of these mother cells, and in early studies have an experimental drug that seems to stop them in breast cancers. “Cancer stem cells are present, we believe, in all cancers,” said Dr. Jenny Chang, medical director of the breast center at Baylor College of Medicine. “So that 1 to 5 percent of the cancer contains cancer stem cells. And while chemotherapy kills 99 to 95 percent of the tumor, what’s left behind is the 5 percent of cancer stem cells. Those will then regrow and regenerate.” Chang spoke at a press briefing on experimental new cancer drugs Friday at the 32nd annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium , which continues through Sunday.

Chang first identified a vulnerable target on the breast stem cells called the Notch receptor and used an experimental drug, gamma-secretase inhibitor, along with a common anticancer drug, docetaxel — first on mice grafted with human tumors, and later in a small number of women with advanced breast cancer. In one dramatic set of photos, Chang showed an inoperable egg-sized mass on one patient’s breast that eventually shrank to the point where surgery was possible. Still, proving the effectiveness of these types of anti-stem-cell drugs will be challenging, researchers said. Given alone, they still leave the large mass of cancer cells intact.

An experimental vaccine against chronic lymphocytic leukemia also being studied at Baylor killed cancer stem cells, but the patients didn’t improve for several months, said Dr. C. Kent Osborne, director of the Baylor Cancer Center. “If you get rid of the mother so that she can’t have any more offspring, as the daughter cells that were there die off, they can’t be replaced,” Osborne said. “It’s going to be much more difficult to study these because we don’t see an immediate tumor shrinkage. But the hope is that over time — and it may take a long time in a tumor like breast cancer that grows more slowly — to see the tumor actually go away under the way we usually study drugs.”

”As oncologists, we like to see things shrink,” added Dr. William Gradishar, professor of medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, who wasn’t involved in the research. “The problem is that things regrow. And the current available therapies aren’t really affecting the population of cells that Jenny is talking about, that are often resistant” to traditional cancer treatment. The researchers are planning on larger human studies of the drug, made by Merck & Co., which funded the research. They’re also looking at other targets on the stem cells. The symposium is a joint effort of the University of Texas Health Science Center, Baylor and the American Association for Cancer Research.

I hope this article is informative so it can help you to make the right decisions about your health.

Doctors Dispute New Mammogram Guidelines

December by leayek

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

On my next radio talk show “Waves of Healing” on 12/29/09

MS Ed, is a professional house healer and ghost rescuer.

Doctors Dispute New Mammogram Guidelines

A few weeks ago, a government task force concluded that
women don’t need annual mammograms after all. In fact,
according to the US Preventative Services Task Force
(USPSTF), usually only women over the age of 50 need
them, and then only every other year.

Needless to say, doctors and hospitals that get paid per
mammogram took umbrage at this pronouncement. “The net
effect of the new guidelines is that screening would begin
too late and its effects would be too little. We would save
money, but lose lives,” said Dr. Stephen Feig, the
president-elect of the American Society of Breast Imaging.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not quite sure if the
“president” of a society whose members rake in big bucks
from mammograms on a reliable, repeat-business basis
qualifies as impartial.

In fact, if every woman had followed the previously
recommended annual imaging guidelines, the annual revenue
reaped by health care facilities just for administering
mammograms would be a staggering $5 billion, with $2.5
billion of that coming from pre-menopausal women. And don’t
forget to add to that the profits from sales and servicing
of imaging equipment, administering biopsies, and treating
the extra cases of cancer caused by mammograms. In other
words, the health establishment stands to lose a whole lot
of money if fewer women get annual screenings.

But, to be fair, mammograms aren’t just about profits.
Detecting breast tumors early does save lives, and if
mammography did a great job of it (and didn’t potentially
create more tumors in the process), the new recommendations
would be criminal. In fact, plenty of women are outraged at
the recommendation to reduce screenings, convinced that the
benefits of mammograms outweigh the risks. The problem is
that mammograms just aren’t that reliable, plus they
actually raise breast cancer rates — and safer, better
alternatives are available. If women knew all the facts,
they truly would have something to be outraged about.

First, as for accuracy, I’ve written before that mammograms
can miss up to 30 percent of all tumors, because the
technology just can’t pick up all tiny masses, particularly
those hidden from view. More importantly, though, the rate
of false positives by some counts is as high as 90 percent.
In fact, the USPSTF task force cited the anxiety caused to
women and the unnecessary treatments resulting from false
positives high among the reasons for suggesting changes to
mammogram recommendations. Many medical experts, though,
found the “false positive” argument lame.

“You’re going to have some false positives, if you detect
cancer early, when it is most curable,” Dr. Feig says.
(Personally, I have to admit I find the word “some” an
interesting adjective to use when referring to “90 percent.”)
And Dr. Judi Chervenak, an associate clinical professor at
Montefiore Medical Center in New York, says the false-
positive argument “is insulting to a woman’s intelligence.
It’s assuming that women can’t take the news that they have
a false positive. Women know there can be a false-positive.”
(Perhaps even more insulting to women’s intelligence is how
blithely Dr. Chervenak totally ignores the fact that false
positives may lead to more than the shock of getting bad
news — they can, and do, lead to invasive biopsies and
unnecessary treatment on a massive scale, which women may
not “take” so well.

Then, there’s the “mammography may cause cancer” issue.
In fact, a large study that just came out found that high-
risk women who had mammograms or chest X-rays before age
20 had two-and-one-half times the risk of developing
breast cancer compared to high-risk women who didn’t have
the tests. If the same group waited until after 20 to have
the test done, they raised their risk of breast cancer by
1.5 times. Other studies have found similar risks,
particularly for younger women. As I’ve written before, the
four films shot during a mammogram expose women to 1000
times more radiation than they would get during a chest
x-ray, and it’s a no-brainer that can’t be a good thing.

In fact, experts warn that pre-menopausal women increase
their risk of cancer by two percent for each mammogram they
have. The incidence of one particular form of breast cancer,
ductal carcinoma in situ, has skyrocketed in direct
relationship to the increase in mammograms performed, and
experts believe there is a close link. Plus, the compression
applied during the screening can spread cancer cells. Curious
how the American Society of Breast Imaging found that not
worthy of mentioning, don’t you think?

And so, the new recommendations appear to have definite
“health” merit, although it is maddening that the
announcement does seem to be based not on concern for women’s
health but more out of concern for containing costs. And lest
we forget, as stated above, good alternatives to mammograms do
exist, and few women have been educated by their doctors about
those options. For one thing, thermography is relatively cheap,
safe, and effective. Breast sonograms also provide a safer,
relatively inexpensive alternative, and according to the
American Journal of Radiology, sonography detects twice as
many cancers as mammography. Plus, there’s a new imaging
technology called elastography, which used in conjunction
with sonography not only finds tumors, but also reveals if
they’re cancerous, without biopsy.

Someone should mention to Dr. Chervenak that not reminding
women that there are safer and more effective alternatives
than mammography is truly insulting to their intelligence.
But she is hardly alone. Experts like Harvard University
radiology professor Dr. Daniel Kopans act like starving
people in a Swedish smorgasbord who claim they can’t find
anything to eat. “The [mammogram] guidelines tell women in
their 40s that they can go back to the 1950s when they had
to wait until a tumor was too large to ignore, and then go
to the doctor when there was no longer any chance of a cure,”
says Dr. Kopans. He makes it sound like mammography is the
only diagnostic tool available. Seems like he and many of his
peers need to pay more attention to the literature in their
own professional journals.

And let’s not forget Dr. Stephen Feig, the president-elect
of the American Society of Breast Imaging. If he acts
quickly, he should be able to nail down the top spot at the
as yet to be formed American Society for Elastography and
Sonography. Go get em Stephen.

Is American Cancer Society for Real?

December by leayek

Greetings,

On my next radio talk show “Waves of Healing” on 12/22/09
at 3pm PST,  I will be interviewing Kathy Buckley -
America’s First Hearing-Impaired Comedienne, who will make
you laugh in one minute and cry in the second. You can

As most of you already know, I am a breast cancer
survivor and had a mastectomy.

I had to face this challenge in my life all alone
and it has not been an easy task.

When I first diagnosed with breast cancer, I was so
ignorant about the subject that I desperately needed
some education. Therefore, I was referred to American
Cancer Society for support and guidance. What I
received was mostly boring statistics and protocols by
a facilitator, who was not a breast cancer survivor
herself.

During my recovery and still today I constantly run
into so many women who are in my situation, but afraid
to talk about having breast cancer or mastectomy,
because of the fear how men will react to their new
condition.

When I realized how many women affected by breast cancer
and how dire the situation were, I felt that something
has to be done in order to shed some light on the situation.
I published my book entitled “Making the Breast of It” with
a subtitle “Overcoming Fear of Intimacy After Mastectomy.”

Soon after the book published, I contacted American Cancer
Society to let them know about my book and its subject.
I requested if we could work together in order to bring the
book to the attention of those women who would benefit from
reading the book.

Oh, yes! I did get a response from American Cancer Society,
telling me that they have their own writer, who is writing
about the same exact issue and they do not have a use for
my book.

Here are my problems with the American Cancer Society’s
writer:

1. The American Cancer Society’s writer is a MALE not
a FEMALE.
2. The American Cancer Society’s writer being a male,
did not experience how it feels to loose a breast to
mastectomy.
3. The American Cancer Society’s writer does not have
a clue how empty a woman can feel after she lost a breast
that represented her womanhood.
4. How American Cancer Society’s writer can relate to
this women issue?
5. Why American Cancer Society did not recognize this
painful issue to write about during all the years of their
existence?

My questions to you are:

A. Is American Cancer Society for Real?
B. Is American Cancer Society helping us when we need
them?
C. What are exactly the functions of American Cancer
Society?
D. Is American Cancer Society’s existence more helpful
to the pharmaceutical companies or to cancer patients? Or
E. Maybe they need to keep their nine to five jobs and
just keep appearances!

You’re about to discover the SECRETS that most women never know that they can Look Good & Feel Great after Mastectomy as a results of Breast Cancer…
Overcoming Fear of Intimacy after Mastectomy does NOT need to be a struggle in order to have an intimate relationship with a man.

Breast Cancer a Blessing in Disguise

December by leayek

Greetings,

On my next radio talk show “Waves of Healing” on 12/15/09 at 3pm PST, I will be interviewing Dr. Daniel J. Benor, MD – author of Seven Minutes to Natural Pain Release also known as “Why Do You Say Whee When You Are in Pain”. You can listen to show live on 12/15/09 at 3pm PST by login to www.blogtalkradio.com/Lea-Yekutiel. Or you can listen to all of the shows at your convenience time by login to www.blogtalkradio.com/lea-yekutiel and listen to archived shows and download it for F R E E.

You probably ask yourselves, how could breast cancer be a blessing in disguise? Actually, there is a simple answer to that question. Since I believe that everything that happens to us, there is a lesson we have to learn from it.

In my encounter with breast cancer, I learned tremendous things I was not aware about them before. My experience with breast cancer helped me change my outlook towards life. My perspective towards life changed, and my priorities have all changed for the better.

I don’t take life for granted anymore. I learned to live in the moment. I also realized that when I live in the present moment, life is wonderful.

However, problems usually arise when I live in the past or in the future. That’s why I enjoy living in the moment. My life is fuller and richer now. I appreciate every moment, consciously making decisions that correspond with how I want to feel in the moment.

I make time to take a walk every morning, smell the roses, listen to the birds chirping, talk to my plants, and listen to the silence. Most of all, I feel precious life all around me. It may sound like a cliché to call my breast cancer a blessing in disguise. However, many times I wonder if my life would have been as rich as it is today if I hadn’t traveled on this path. It’s a journey that has been enriched by many courageous people especially courageous women.

With much Love and Laughter.

How to Change Your Energy

How to Change Your Energy: Featured on Oprah.com

- by Deepak Chopra

How is it that two people in the same room can wind up with completely different energies, one depressed and the other upbeat? What kind of energy do you give off? Deepak Chopra tells you how to control your energy and create positivity in all areas of your life. For most people, the greatest good they could do for themselves is to change their energy. Your emotions give off energy that can be positive or negative.

It’s a common experience to walk into a room and feel tension in the air, as opposed to a room where the atmosphere is cheerful and relaxed. We tend to assume that energy is physical, but two people can eat the same lunch and wind up with totally different energy. One person may be depressed, unhappy and stuck in her ways, while the other is alert, vibrant and creative.

Clearly it’s not the food they ate that made the difference but a subtler level of energy—the level where mood, emotions, motivation, aspirations and beliefs exist. It takes energy to keep this level of life going, so when we say that someone is giving off negative energy, what we really mean is that at the subtle level of mind and body, negative beliefs are consuming energy and turning it into negative actions, words and thoughts. The first thing to realize is that you are in control of your own energy.

I know it doesn’t feel that way sometimes. Depression can take hold like an invading germ; anxiety can cause fear to leap out of nowhere; anger can simmer like a pot on the stove. Yet these conditions do not define you, and in fact you can begin to use basic energy—the kind that comes from food, air, loving relationships, nature’s beauty and the flow of creativity—for your own good. All these sources of energy are available to you all the time. They are part of your birthright; they connect you to the flow of life, which is constantly renewing itself.
